Paramount Chiefs power to vote on Bills must be removed. These Chiefs DO NOT PAY NOMINATION FEES and their election/selection is separate from the main election. That is why the Governor General 1967, Sir Henry Lightfoot-Boston, REFUSED TO COUNT THEM IN the result and solved the “32/32 problems.”. We must go by that precedent. Their place in Parliament and voting comes in by way of a convention- it is NOT COMPULSORY for the chiefs to ALWAYS VOTE for the government. THIS POLICY IS AN UNFORTUNATE BREACH OF DEMOCRACY.
